“Do our loved ones who’ve passed away still watch over us?”

I usually avoid answering.

Because the moment I do, it’s not unusual for their spirits to show up at my door — asking me to pass on messages. It gets… complicated.

But I will say this:

Yes.
On certain days of the year — they see you.
Sometimes, they even stand right beside you.

Let me share a real story.

📼 A Father’s Voice on a Cassette Tape

This happened in China during the 1980s.

Back then, students had to learn English, but resources were limited.
One teaching method was to record speaking homework on cassette tapes using a “repeat machine” at home. The next day, teachers would play the tapes and give feedback.

A boy — let’s call him Jams — lived alone with his mother. His father, a soldier, had died in a military accident when Jams was just three.

He had no memories of his father, only a few black-and-white photos.

When Jams entered middle school, the army gave them a small apartment in the corner of an old building — it barely received sunlight.

One night, he was recording his English assignment alone at home.
When he played it back, he heard strange interference — a soft “biu biu” sound in the background.

Curious, he slowed down the playback.

And there it was.

A man’s voice — soft, deep, calm — said:
“That was well-read.”

No one else was in the house.

🧍‍♂️ “That’s Your Father’s Voice.”

Terrified, Jams dropped the cassette player.

Just then, his mother returned from work.

He told her what happened and played the tape.
